Handmade Holidays

A big thank you to everyone who has shared their Christmas projects each week on my little list. It's been fun and I have met some new people:>) I have a teeny little project finished this week, since every waking moment has been dedicated to my big project for Christmas. I made a few tags. Old sheet music, stamped words and micro glitter. Seriously, could we HAVE Christmas without glitter? I think not.  Christmas is clearly the season of Jesus, love, joy and glitter. I love how these tags sparkle with the Christmas tree lights and they are practically free to make and have so much more charm than the packaged stickers at the store.

I am finally getting my decorating done. The dining room table was returned to the dining room Sunday and things are slowly getting rearranged and decorated.  We got the tree last night and I will wait until Victoria gets home from University Thursday to decorate it with my girls. I don't think I have ever waited this long to put up the tree before. My take down date is New Years! I probably won't even take all the ornaments out.  I will, however, be baking and lighting and cuddling and wrapping. Christmas is just so much more Christmas when the kids are home:>) So, Share the latest handmade fun you are having. Whether it be baking, glittering, thrifting or making I want to see and hear all about it! Don't forget, thrifted decor counts too! 1. Hi Kathy
Such pretty tag. Every year I am lazy and get store bought ones, but after seeing how pretty these look I'm going to make my own next year.

  3. Very sweet tags, Kathy. Aren't they fun to make! I was so distracted by your shoes yesterday I forgot to mention how great your project was. Where do you find the time?

You know, even though it's beautiful, I'm really not into glitter 'cause I'm such a...messy crafter... I get it everywhere! But it seems that at Christmas, even if I don't bring home anything with glitter I still find it. I think it's in the air in December!

    Christmas Hugs,
    Dawn

  8. Your tags are precious! They will be the perfect addition to your gifts.
I somehow linked twice on your list and am so sorry. I don't know how to remove the first link (my mistake one).
Thank you again for hosting such a fun party. I always look forward to viewing your guests creations. :o)
    Have a nice day.
    Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

  12. Love those tags Kathy. I am glad your dining room is getting back to order. It is really hard to decorate in the middle of a construction project!

I can just picture all of the cuddling that will be done in your cozy home this season.

  15. Hi Susan,
I actually picked up reams of old sheet music at a garage sale (free) and used a rubber stamp to print the word NOEL on it. I then covered it in scrapbook glue and glittered it.

  18. Hi Kathy,

Those tags are so cute! Our tree is up but my husband has been working so much (he's in retail) we haven't had a chance to decorate it. We like to do it together. So hopefully this Friday we'll be able to get to it!

No I can't imagine Christmas without glitter. I actually ran out of silver glitter and I had full bottle!

I edited my bookmark post to include your party.

  19. Gorgeous glitter tags Kathy -- they sparkle and shine and add a richness to a tag that says to the recipient -- you are special!

I haven't decorated my tree either -- my first born is home sometime tonight and while we bought the tree without him, I haven't wanted to have it all decorated before he got home. It just seemed "wrong" somehow.

It's being with those we love that matters...and while a lot of what I have done in the past won't be done this year, whatever we do will be "enough". ♥
