Happy New Year!

I don't know about the rest of you but I've had way too much of this....

and this...

and, oh good Lordy, this....(white chocolate peppermint popcorn!)

It's pretty clear what my New Years resolution is going to be.  Salad.
But first we have a party to go to tonight, I've got to try to be good, smart, listen to my body instead of my tongue.  And then one more family party this Saturday.  We are taking non junk food to both. I'll let you in on what we are taking and the recipe tomorrow. It's good, let me tell you, but only in moderation of course:>)  In response to everyone who has been concerned about my health, I am much better. I should be feeling great by next Monday when I head back to work. *sigh* Isn't that just the way it goes? But don't worry about me, I'm well enough for a little party here and there so how bad can I really be?
I see changes ahead for me, but one thing won't change, and that is how much I appreciate each of you who takes the time to visit and comment. It's a treat and a day lifter and  when days go bad I can always find a friendly and loving comment right here. Thank you.  I will be working on a give-away in the next week or two to show my appreciation, so stay tuned. I think you'll like it:>) Lets start the new year right!
Happy New Year everyone!
Photos taken by my wonderful daughter Victoria with my new camera! She is a fantastic photographer no?

  2. I completely understand what you're saying - I'm right there with you! After tomorrow I'll be cutting my snacks and goodies w.a.y. back. We're hosting a Rose Bowl Game Party here tomorrow and our kids and grandkids and other family will be together. Not making any promises until after tomorrow!

Hope you have a wonderful New Year and a healthy, blessed year ahead.

  6. I'm glad that you're feeling better Kathy and well enough to attend a few parties!

Oh so much rich food (so much good food!) -- I've eaten more than I should of all the things that aren't "good" for me, but they've felt so "right". Time soon enough to get back on the "behave wagon"!!

Wishing you and yours a most beautiful new year Kathy, filled with much promise, possibility and wonder!!

  7. Oh honey! Just a few minutes ago I made myself step on the scale. Usually I do that first thing in the morning. This time I thought, "It is what it is." It isn't pretty!! Time to spring into action.

By the way, my friends loved the gifts I bought from your Etsy shop!

  9. So glad you're feeling up to a bit of a party tonight. Maybe you can spend the bulk of the weekend resting??

I don't know about anyone else but I'm intrigued beyond words about white chocolate peppermint popcorn.....where do I find this, this creation that is surely in the pot at the end of the rainbow? Who do I thank for inventing it? How do I make it?

  22. Kathy~ Happy New year! It's good to see your up to a little partying.
I find the hardest thing about a healthier lifestyle is getting the exercise in the winter. Especially now that our health club has closed down, leaving us to our own resources. I enjoy going for a walk ,but the weather isn't cooperating.
So, I will have to rely and the fish and fresh veggies to carry me through until the thaw, lol.

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara

  24. Me. Too.

Getting to the mall-walking since it's cold, snowy and icy. Going to show up at the mall every morning by 815 and walk four miles twice a week, more outside if weather cooperates.

Throwing out all leftover Christmas goodies tomorrow or Tuesday. We've been gone for ten days so I figure we can enjoy what's in those tins for another day and then off they go!

I can't wait to see what you have in store for a giveaway!
    XOXO

  28. LOL, I think many of us could have written this post. Our goodies are finally down to the crumbs so I won't have so many temptations now. Oh yes, your daughter is a great photographer! I bought myself a new camera in early Dec. but still don't know all the features. Can I borrow Victoria? :)

  29. I'm sorry, but I am not allowed to be lent out to people as my mother relies on me for things like humor, occasional attempts at cleaning, and hugs so numerous even she bocomes annoyed. I am sure you can understand that these difficult tasks eat up most of my time, and that when I am not busy taking care of my mother, I collapse in a heap and lay on the floor as my cat licks my face, trying desperately to wake me up. Obviously this makes it very difficult for me to perform such tasks as getting into a box and being shipped out to people to help them with their cameras, as much as I may wish to. Good luck Donna! I love you mom!
