A little Spring Dreaming

How are you all doing? I know some of you are buried under piles of snow.  Michigan, however, is having a streak of what we almost consider a heat wave. Temps in the 30's and 40's this week and glorious sunshine! Oh how I love the sun this time of year.  I'm busy dreaming of Spring right now. Earl and I sat down a couple nights ago and planned the garden. Beets, and brussel sprouts, beans and peas, jalapeno peppers and purple carrots all ringed with flowers in our raised beds.  I'm also planning a kitchen herb garden right outside the back door. I can't wait.
In the meantime, I'm also adding some new rosey designs to the etsy shop.
Roses and polka dots in pretty spring colors.  So you can dream of gardens while you whip up those warm baked goodies to enjoy with your hot cocoa :)
Are you planning your garden yet?

  1. I love those decals on the mixer! ADORABLE!!!!! I've definitely been thinking about my garden lately. I've already planned what I want to plant and get rid off. I want a more native garden that attracts more butterflies and birds.

  4. It's so hard to think of my garden when it's this miserable out, Kathy...I'm being a Debby Downer, I know. I will work on it.

I love your KitchenAid. Mine is almost thirty years old and although it works perfectly, it is pretty crappy looking. I can scrub it forever and I don't think the pretty additions you have on yours can make me look past the grunge. Any tips on cleaning the surfaces?

    Stay warm!

  7. Your decals are so cute! I have two kitchen aids, black and white, one lift up, one tilt back. Never has either looked as cute as these. I keep mine hidden cause I hate anything on my counters? I'm planning my garden now too, and seed starting will start in late Feb/march.

  8. First of all, I want to thank you for the great weather you've shared with us. It's 36F today! We are loving it. Yes, I have allowed myself to think about a garden. The trouble is that light is a problem again now that the tree canopy has grown back in. I think I will have a small box on my railing just outside the door where I can grow some herbs. The raised bed no longer gets enough light for vegetables so I'll have to think of something that will work there. It's fun to ponder. Now you have got it all planned! No pondering required. I do love your decals. If I had a kitchenaid, I'd be sure to decorate with them.

  10. I love the new decals. Every time you share something I wish I could have them all! I need to take some photos of my mixer with the wonderful decals you custom made for me. I'll share it soon before I share the changes that are in process in my whole kitchen right now. My mixer will finally be in the spot I envisioned - with the color of your wonderful decals balancing the colors from across the room. We have talked about our garden plans a bit but haven't actually sat down to plan it out. Your plans sound wonderful.

  13. I am thinking about our garden - both veggie and flower. Last year was busy and we kept the veggie garden simple - tomatoes, peppers, basil, parsley. I'm not sure what I feel we need to add this year as we have a wonderful produce stand just up the road from us, and buying from them helps support local business.

As for our flower gardens, well they've been the same for at least a dozen years so I am thinking of changing it up quite a bit. It's in the dreaming stage still.
